What a whirlwind these last couple months have been! I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to share some of my favourite shots from way back in November. My home was filled with cuddly, squishy, adorable children and their adorning mamas and so, so much love and the images we made speak volumes for these special little bonds. Enjoy 🙂

But from the moment he was born, Ian has made it so easy. He is a happy, loving little boy with a great sense of humour and a strong will that I admire. His smiles and giggles can instantly erase all the stresses and frustrations of the day. Being a mom isn’t always easy, but being Ian’s mom is the most rewarding and inspiring thing I’ve ever done in my life. I am already so proud of him and the person he’s becoming.”

“Motherhood is the complete extreme of all my emotions; almost difficult to put into words…
It makes me the most present yet I can wish the time away. I’m so in love with them, yet at times, I can not like them very much. I want to keep them little but I want all their dreams to be fulfilled as they grow up.

Motherhood is the best role in my whole life yet at times it really feels like work; hard work. Everything can go from being totally calm to complete chaos in the snap of a finger. I can forget that I once was my own person and now being a mom means never being who I once was ever again… And I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world.”

As plans often do, my October weekend marathon of sessions turned into a quieter Saturday with three lovely sessions in the morning. We took our time, chatting and styling each of the mamas and reveling in the stillness of the rainy morning. I enjoy making connections with each mama, finding common acquaintances, sharing interests and of course, discussing motherhood and all that it entails.

Learning how to adapt to every single possible situation, and with that soaking up daily lessons from the tiny humans you’ve somehow created. It’s forgiving. Forgiving yourself for not being perfect for them, and also learning to move on gracefully from the million little mishaps you will deal with in a day. Motherhood is messy and beautiful, raw and magical. Motherhood to me, is them – and motherhood is all of me.”
