I have fallen so deeply in love with these sessions. They mean more to me than I can put into words, so hopefully these photographs speak volumes.
Saturday had its share of ups and downs, but sometimes, the most beautiful, tender moments come from the “in between” moments, when mum consoles her baby or when little one rubs her tired eyes.
As always, I asked each mama to share what motherhood means to them, and their beautiful words pair so well with their unique session.
With love, Chels.

“Life as a mama to three (almost four!) is messy & loud & all-consuming. It is the most enlightening & fulfilling adventure. An endless devotion & a BIG swallow-you-whole kinda love. Motherhood is my sole purpose in this big crazy world.”

“Being a mom is the best blessing I could ever imagine. The day my daughter came into my life has forever changed it for the better. She has taught me how to love unconditionally and be completely selfless. I no longer only consider myself but now have this tiny human to love, support, and raise to be the best she can be. Most days are filled with laugher, smiles, and memorable firsts (like teaching her how to ride a bike) while some are filled with tears, meltdowns, and arguments with a 2 year old on why she can’t have cookies for breakfast. At the end of the day, I’d never change it for anything in the world. Being a mother to the sweetest little girl is the greatest blessing!”

“My favourite part of being a mother is the amount of endless love I have for my child. Waking up every morning to a bright gummy smile and sweet voice from her crib makes all the challenges of motherhood worth it. Becoming a mom was the best thing to ever happen to me thus far. I thank my lucky stars everyday that she’s mine.”

“Being a mom has given me a satisfaction that I didn’t even know I needed. It has taught me to stretch my heart in ways I didn’t even think were possible. My days with two little ones are crazy and chaotic, and there isn’t a single day I don’t question my abilities as a mother, but it’s something I wouldn’t trade for the world. Motherhood is messy, exhausting, frustrating, and challenging, but seeing these two little people grow is the most rewarding accomplishment I could’ve ever hoped for.”

“Motherhood has been my greatest adventure. It has encompassed my highest highs and my lowest lows. I’m continually pushed past [what I believed was] my breaking point, yet I can always find new strength to keep going. Within motherhood I have come to understand unconditional love, had my eyes reopened to childhood’s wonder, and developed a pretty amazing superpower: Mommy hugs!”
